Sermon: We Are Not a cast-off race from The Bottom of the Barrel
Sermon highlights:
Sermon highlights:
The Pastor started the sermon by referring to Genesis 2: 13 which mentions Ethiopia, the land that was surrounded by Gihon in Africa. The land was rich in resources.
The Africans were not cast-off people.
Some of the scriptures the pastor named that pertained to the Black race were: Job 28:19; Psalm 68:31: and Isiah 45:15.
We must not let anyone make us think that we, as a race, are slow, hard to understand, and cannot perform difficult tasks.
Many of us are led to believe that Jesus was white, with blond hair and blue eyes, This description is not accurate. This fact can be supported by a lot of scripture in the Bible.
In our society today there is a lot of disruption going on in this country since a new president was installed last month. We must continue to put our trust in God because he can keep and protect us from evil. Let us keep on praising God, and pray that he will touch the hearts of men who are disrupting families and putting unnecessary fear into their lives.
Again, trust in God and remember trouble doesn't last always
Just remember, God is in control.
After the sermon, the choir sang a beautiful hymn, "Somebody prayed for me". It was very uplifting.
This month is designated as Black History Month. During this period, there will be many events, services, and programs presented to the public about Black History. We don't have to make it just a yearly practice. Why not year-round?
