Vacation Bible School 2017 deemed exceptional at Warner Baptist

Article 2 Volume 7                                                                                              June 24, 2017
Vacation Bible School 2017

The 2017 Vacation Bible School (VBS) session at Warner Baptist ended Friday night.
This year's theme was "Put  on the whole armor of God."

Each night the teachers came prepared to teach.

The children were exceptional in the preparation of their arts and crafts.

Deaconess Shirley Saunders provided the music and did an outstanding job teaching the VBS music to the children and adults.  She has performed this task annually, with few, if any misses, for over 40 years.

Pastor Matthew J. Pearson was present every night and contributed in the presentations.

Compliments are also extended to Sister Rosalie Williams, the director, and all the volunteers who contributed to making this year's session one of the most lauded in recent history.

Overall, attendance was very good every night.

Attendees ranged in ages from 1 plus to 90 plus.

Note:  The adult class pictures were taken after class. Many members of the class were moving about.  Some lingered, and talked about how much they enjoyed the class.

Warner Baptist Celebrated its Annual Homecoming Day on Sunday July 10, 2016

Article 7 Volume 6
Annual Homecoming Day

The church celebrated its Annual Homecoming Day in an atmosphere of perpetual praising and uplifting the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through preaching, praying, testimony, and good ole fashion singing.

The morning message was delivered by Rev. Matthew J. Pearson, pastor of Warner Baptist. The afternoon message was delivered by Rev Carl Johnson, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist, Alexandria, VA (the church is actually located in Fairfax County).  He was accompanied by one of his church choirs and members of the Usher Board.  We appreciate their contribution and assistance.

The Food Ministry, under the leadership of Deaconess Shirley Saunders, prepared and enthusiastically served a delicious meal.

Homecoming Day Celebration

Homecoming Day is a joyous occasion at Warner Baptist. Many members, former members, families, friends, and whosoever generally attend the morning and afternoon services.

The pastor, Rev. Matthew J. Pearson, I believe, will deliver the message in the morning services.

Rev. Carl Johnson, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist, Alexandria will be the afternoon preacher. He will be accompanied by members of his church.

Food will be served between the services.

The p.m. service is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

You are Welcome!

Conclusion:  Homecoming Services are generally more joyous than Home Going Services. So let us strive to greet each other more often between these two services. ( Grady's Collection of Thoughts 101).

Warner Baptist Annual Ushers Day was highly supported. Reverend Donald Hayes, pastor of Oakland Baptist delivered timely message

Article 4 Volume 6                                                                           June 17, 2016

Warner Baptist Annual Ushers Day Service
P.M. Service

Warner Baptist celebrated its Annual Ushers Day on Sunday, June 5, 2016. The guest Preacher for the service was Rev. Donald Hayes, pastor of Oakland Baptist Church, Alexandria, Virginia. He used scripture from the New Testament.  His message was centered on being a person willing to serve and help people for the uplifting of God's kingdom.

He was accompanied by one of his church's choirs and members of the Ushers Ministry.

There was a moment of silence, during the service, in remembrance of Sister Mamie Morgan who passed away in May 2016. She was a long time member of the Ushers Ministry at Warner Baptist and Ebenezer Baptist in Alexandria, Virginia.

An estimated 105 Ushers from the Northern Virginia area were present to support and show their love for the Warner Baptist Ushers ministry. Also, our visitors included several none ushers.

We were treated to the highly acclaimed March of the Northern Virginia Ushers.
Probably the only pictures you can find on the internet of this grand march is at our website, published on June 3, 2014: www. wbcfallschurch.blogspot.com

The food ministry under the leadership of Deaconess Shirley Saunders prepared and served a
very delicious meal.  The chicken was finger licking good.

Deaconess Inez Addison is the president of the Ushers Ministry.
Reverend Matthew J. Pearson is the pastor.
